The Vajra Bell represents the "Awakened One," its sound awakening sentient beings from ignorance and alerting them to the three poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion. In Tantric Buddhism, the bell symbolizes wisdom and represents the emptiness of Buddha-nature. Combined with the Vajra Dorje (thunderbolt), it embodies the unity of compassion and wisdom, and the harmony of yin and yang. The bell signifies the teaching of Dharma, with five types symbolizing the external manifestation of the five wisdoms and five Buddhas.
